De la margini, o, apostoli

La Ghetsimani v-adunaţi,
Şi-al meu corp , zice Fecioara,
Cu cântări îl îngropaţi.
Fiul meu, iubit mă cheamă
Azi la Sine-n cerul sfânt.
Vă las binecuvântare
Şi mă-nalţ de pe pământ.
Sus în cer se întocmeşte
Sărbătoare-n jurul meu,
Şi cu cinste mă primeşte
Fiul meu şi Dumnezeu.
Preoţi şi creştini se-adună
Formând cete îngereşti;
Pe pământ şi-n cer răsună
Armonii dumnezeieşti.
Primeşte dar, Curată
Umilitele cereri
Şi la noi cu milă cată
La necazuri şi dureri,
Iar noi drept recunoştinţă
Venerăm icoana ta;
Totdeauna cu credinţă
Adormirea-ţi vom cânta.

Biserica a fost construita in secolul 3 pe locul unde Sfanta Familie,Maria si Iosif impreuna cu Iisus nou nascut,a stat cand a fugit de prigoana pruncilor,in Egipt,din Israel.

Se spune ca in acele vremuri aici era o seceta pregnanta,insa unde a calcat Iisus pe o piatra a izvorat apa,scapand lumea de seceta.

Biserica a fost arsa si reconstruita,piatra cu talpa Fiului gasindu-se si acum in muzeul bisericii.Va prezint o frumoasa colectie de icoane copte din muzeul acestei bisericii.

The church was erected in the third century AD on the area where the Holy family settled and that was in the East of Sakha City. It Was almost destroyed in the sixteenth century, and it was reconstructed due to the decision of Muhammad ِAli the ruler of Egypt in 1846.

When the Holy Family moved over to AL Sabbakh which is Sakha city today there they were thirsty for lack of water, so The Lord Jesus put his foot over a rock and left a foot print from under which a pure source of water was created. Faithful people used to pour oil over this rock to take blessings from it. Eventually this rock was then hidden under the ground. During the 13 th century the rock disappeared in courtyard of the monastery and remained hidden till it was found in 20 th cent accompanied by a rocky crown.
